Puke Flavored Coffee

Today I was all happy to be getting Starbucks at lunch. Nearly freezing my ass off on the walk over to get it seemed worth it. When I went to order my usual, a green tea late with skim milk, I was told that the expresso machine was broken and this meant that they could not steam milk. My options were drip coffee or frappachino. The frappachino would have had more fat than the bowl of cream of broccoli soup I bought for lunch, so I ordered up the drip coffee, thinking the thought that countless starbucks patrons have thought before no doubt. The horrible tasting coffee was probably an isolated incident... those two other times. Maybe today it would actually be good. I love trying new things so I decided to get the holiday blend. The girl described it as 'spicy'. Well... I had the stomach flu last week so that vomit aftertaste you get after wretching is still fresh in my mind. Thats what the Starbucks Holiday blend tasted like. I suppose it could have been the cream I put in it, but I've never had sour milk that tasted so distinctivly like stomach bile.

No offence Starbucks. I still love my green tea lattes, and pumpkin spice lattes and peppermint hot chocolate and will continue to spend crazy amounts of my paycheque on them...but the drip coffee is the worst I've ever had.

See that up there? I only come here to complain. Since I'm here, I'll complain some more!

'Medium' isn't on Sunday (actually a really good thing, see I can be positive), its on tonite, wednesday. So is my only other favorite prine time drama, 'Bones', and guess what? They're on at the same frikkin time! I was hoping this wouldn't happen, but it did, of course. :P
well, they're both on at 9pm on different channels and 'Medium' is on NBC and 11pm, but 11pm is too late for me to be awake now. I fall asleep during Friday night anime at approximately 11:40pm every week.

I'll be watching 'Medium' at 9 as the only real perk of 'Bones' is that exactly like any of the million other 'find out how the corpse died' shows but with skeletons only.

Yay? It would be better if I didn't have to do workstuff. I kinda want to take off today and do me things. Like go to the library and that bookstore I like. Not sure if they'll be open though. Apparently some business take today as the holiday, but others take Monday. I actually thought it would be Monday everywhere since that's when banks and stuff take it. It works out for me anyways since I have a paycheck to deposit and bills I need to pay. Its really hard getting to the bank when you work bank hours every day. Stupid banks....

It snowed here just before Halloween and the snow is still here. >:( It is cold and gross. Yesterday it was -25. I have no tolerance for cold anymore. We have the dogs leashes hooked to the mailbox so we can just hook them up to their collars and let them do their business in the yard without me having to walk them. I know thats lazy, but its the dogs' fault too. They won't 'go' just anywhere and the park is now under about a foot and a half of snow. It's over Shu's head. Fed chooses play before doing his business and as long as I'm out there with him he won't go. I hate putting them on leashes but Dad took the back fence down in the summertime to replace the old yucky boards and then got busy with the roof, and fixing a travel trailer and work etc. So the fence is still down. Oh Dad. I'm one to talk though, I'm the same as himm when it comes to starting and finishing large projects.

I forgot what I was going to write about next...I had something but now its gone.

Oh right. NaNoWriMo was a one day thing, just like it was last year. I suck.

Well I should get going and start my day before I waste it doing zip.

I just replied to comments posted in my journal almost a month ago Go me!

You'd think that since I'm on the internet 8 hours a day anyway, 1 more hour to post in this thing wouldn't hurt. blah.

What's up with halloween? I've read on few sites today that there is a distinct decline in the amount of kids going to people's houses for treats. Isolated incident or decline of the holiday in general? If I weren't a stupid adult I'd be participating. Hello? Free Candy! and getting to dress up as something that you couldn't possibly ever be. For instance, a 7 year old caucasion kid can be Osama Bin Laden. That's what my cousin was this year. It was so not funny.

Also in the category of "so not funny" is all this snow that got dumped on us Saturday. People in GP don't know how to drive. I am no exception, sadly.

In other news, work kind of sucks as I have too much of it and no free time. I am entering NaNoWriMo again this year despite this. It worked so well last year after all :P

Same account, holyalmost, as last year for anyone who wishes to know such things.

P.S - Halloween didn't suck this year. Katie decorated. I helped her make a costume, she was a spooky doll, and I made the candy apples I was wanting to make since last year. The only sucky part was when we watched "The Omen" remake because it was not at all scary.

blah, I don't know what to do with myself today. I'm all alone with the dogs. Its surprising how stuck to my parents I am when it comes to going out and doing things. I don't think its because I don't drive. I have full access to the transit and a bike and still I don't know what to do with myself today. Part of me wants to take the dogs for a big, long walk. Possibly to the dog park so that they can get all kinds of exercise and I won't feel guilty for leaving them in their crates all day. The problem with this is that its quite difficult to control two dogs at once, and its not only because of Fed. If they're going to act up, Shu is often the one who starts it. The two of them are so stuck to eachother its like Monkey see monkey do. If Fed chases Olive, Shu will chase Olive even though until we got Fed Shu not only didn't have a problem with Olive, she was actually kind of afraid of her. They're quite hard to deal with sometimes. They get along with dogs for the most part, but they have their issues with some. Dogs are like people, some dogs just don't like certain other dogs and behave as such. I'm more nervous about the walk to the Dog Park than the park itself. Fed doesn't like kids and thinks that he needs to herd vehicles that pass by. I suck at training them.

But, if I take them to the park and run them for a good, long time, I can then leave them in their crates in the afternoon without feeling like a jerk. I feel like going to the movies. Unfortuneately there aren't any movies I'd liek to see playing that I haven't allready gone to. Wow! I just realised that I didn't see 'Snakes on a Plane' Listed for the Grande anymore. I have a hard time believing its been taken off the roster allready. Pirates is still on it. Then again, i suppose Snakes on a Plane is no Pirates despite the hype. Katie saw it and said that it was "Ridiculous but entertaining". It must have been the latter seeing as she saw it twice.

This pointless rambling off in my livejournal isn't helping me make a decision. So lets make a list.

Things I really need to do this weekend:

1.) Buy the cat food. (she has some, but she doesn't like it.)
2.) Exercise the dogs (my animals are soo spoiled)
3.) Watch V for Vendetta
4.)Should probably clean the house at some point
5.) Do work related coding

Things I probably should do:

1.)Study my driver's handbook so I can get my learners.
2.) Transfer my website over to the work server

Things I've been wanting to do for a really long time:

1.)start the webcomic for serious
2.)design a blog template, and start a 'professionalish' blog.

Wow, this entry takes the prize for most boring livejournal entry ever. I'm sure everyone on my friends list is interested. Well, i think the things on my must do list are paramount, so I guess I should exercise the dogs first (hoping they don't cause some sort of embarassing scene) then get some cat food somewhere for my picky cat. I'll probably not end up going to the movies, but downtown for a little while might be nice.

Ok, I'm taking my boring assed self away form my comp now.

Star Trek!

It is 40 today.

I have the house to myself probably for most of the weekend. I think It'll be a perfect night to watch some Season II episodes of Star Trek TOS. I only got them for Christmas, so its not like I had a lot of time to watch them :P Geeze, its almost Christmas again. More importantly though, its almost HALLOWEEN again!

I also rented V for Vendetta. I'm kind of kicking myself for doing so, again. I rented it last weekend and a Home Theatre System Explosion prevented me from watching it when I had the time. I am so not kidding on the explosion part. What is it with our family and exploding electronics? Anyway, I didn't watch it, but I didn't bring it back to the video store either. It would have been all good if I had've not been lured back to Movie Gallery by the free rental cupon they sent for not renting in a couple of months. Blockbuster and their no late fees fits my lifestyle perfectly. So I have an extremely large late charge bill on the way in the near future. I have no excuse, its ridiculous how close Movie Gallery is to my house.

If I were a true trekkie I would have known before this morning that it was star Trek's 40th anniversary, but since I'm only a wannabe trekkie with my TOS only range of interest, I didn't. I also probably would know whats up with this Star Trek 2.0 stuff. All I know is that the commercials are amazing!

I cannot hear or see Fed. He's probably eating something. Or worse, ejecting someting he's allready eaten somewhere in the house.

Pirates 2 - Repat Viewing Test

Score = Passed.

In fact, I decided after watching it again, and learning all the things I missed (despite heavy foreshadowing for some key points. It kind of concerns me I did not see them.) I loved this movie and can't wait for the next one.

With a passed repeat viewing score and my ability to criticize and question the movie, yet still enjoy it, means I can safely put this on "My favorite Movies" List

This reminds me, I bought The Libertine on DVD a few weeks ago. Started to watch it, but fell asleep and have yet to attempt to watch it again. This isn't going on "My Favorite Movies" List and yet I still own the DVD. So wrong. (I should try watching it again I think)

My parents, sister and Uncle (who is visiting from 'down home') went to Costco, like, 2 hours ago to pick up new sofas. I can;t help but think that they're out having some magnificient fun while I'm stuck here tryign to watch TV with nothing good being broadcast. I actually should be cleaning, again. sigh.

This is what I get for sleeping in.

Woah look at me not posting in about 50 million years!

So, what's been goign on? I took Fed to learn how to herd sheep. Real sheep. Sheep are much larger than cartoons make them seem. We weren't very good at it, but now I've been able to train Fed not to do so many of the annoying things he was doing like running out the front door when you open it, or chewing on anything he can find and refusing to relinquish it. He's a pretty good dog now, I just have to break him of his annoying habit of trying to attack children.
Work is getting stressy. I have my own clients now. I painted my room and bought a new bed and desk and I now owe my parents 50 million dollars. Looks good though. I have pics to post later. Saw Pirates of the Carribean and was rather disapointed that they decided to make a trilogy out of it instead of one shot 'Episodes'. But I was pretty happy the way it ended off. The next movie should be better than this one, I hope. There's something wrong when Will Turner is more engaging than Jack Sparrow in terms of character development.

McDonalds has awesome happy meal toys. I now own several stuffed Jack Sparrows and a neon green skeleton in a pirate hat. Not sure where the skeleton came from, he wasn't in the movie and isn't even really piratey save for the hat. But he IS an skeleton and therefore he is now mine. They both look like they 'went on down to South Park and Had themselves a time'

Well, I should go. Due to the increased responsibility at work, I have need fo takign work home with me, so I should get some computer break time before havign to use it again.

This live journal post has been brought to you by the number 50 million.

The klingon blood was nto in Star Trek 5. It was in Star Trek 6. If I was a true Trekkie, I would have not made that mistake. and I would also be able to write the proper roman numerals instead of numbers.

Jumped the fandom, and nearly the livejournal

I have nothing to bitch about anymore. I'm guessing this is why I haven't updated since the end of January. A few years ago I read an article in a Writing magazine about journals and how the difference between an effective journal and an ineffective journal (for creative development) was that jeuvenile journals are nothing but complaints, while growth journals have insightful observations.

So here's to a henceforth upbeat and positive reading experience. I'm not going to promise I'll never rant again, I find I sometimes need this thing to rant. Mom says I have a right to be cranky and bitch sometimes too, but I still feel bad about doing it to people's faces.

In fact somnething happened to piss me off today at work, first thing in the morning, and I suppose I could bitch about that, but in the spirit of moving forward, I won't.

Fed is sick right now. I think he must've eaten something earlier. I hope thats what's wrong because Mom is in Edmonton at a work related thing, and Katie and Dad went to Toronto to remove our crap from the apartment. So I am all alone, without a drivers license, and if Fed has parvo or something we're both sol. I'm being dramatic, he was vaccinated for parvo long ago.

My username isn't doing anything for me anymore. I've jumped the DBZ Fandom. I bought the 12th movie months ago and only opened it to watch yesterday, while cleaning. I didn't even get to the Vegeta bits. I guess I should just fast forward to them.

I've been watching Full Metal Alchemist on YTV. Its the first anime that's ever made me feel sick after shocking me. That whole Nina thing was heartbreaking. But now that I've been watching it for a while, I find that I only half pay attention to it. I also find the balance between angst and downright silliness is ..off. I recently rented GunSword, which I didn't hate, but barely enjoyed. I'm starting to watch shows with 'real' people in them. I think the anime train has sailed. Wait. Trains don't sail.

But since we're talking about sailing, I got this awesome book about pirates at costco. It has all these neat inserts, like maps and wanted posters. The thing that made me buy it was a reproduction of an ad that a privateer ship put out in Halifax in the 18th century. I knew there were pirates around Nova Scotia, what with the whole Oak Island mystery, but I never imagined that people openly advertised to recruit locals into piracy.

Only 23 more sleeps till POTC2! I should build a counter like the geek that I am. Finally I can act like a fan about something again. Movies truly did suck this past year.

Whatever you do, do not rent "Prime".

Movie gallery called us last week and informed us that they gave us a free rental because we hadn't been in in a while. We've been going to blockbuster because we don't bring movies back on time. Ever. blockbuster works well with our movie renting haits. Movie gallery does not. The free rental is now 3 days late :/

The Oilers won. I didn't find this out by watching the game, or checking online. I could hear the neighbors across the park screaming with glee from within their houses. In a few minutes the horns will start. Here's hoping that the fans on White ave don't act like idiots tonight and wreck the place.

Well, I guess this is enough for now. Fed is due to puke any minute so I should get going. Maybe I should give him some pepto bismol. I read on a website that it will work on dogs the same as people. As soon as I thought of pepto bismol, I thought of Klingon blood in Star Trek 5. And also those annoying commercials.
